"A midwife should have a lady's hands a hawks eyes, and a lion's heart.”
-
ARISTOTLE

the midwife

Christian Toscano, LM CPM CST
Christian (she/her) is a California Medical Board Licensed Midwife (LM), Certified Professional Midwife CPM, Craniosacral Therapist (CST) and Clinical Herbalist. Since 2010 she has attended hundreds of births at home, birth center and hospital; many of which were "VBAC's" and water births. She graduated from Birthwise Midwifery School, a MEAC accredited 3-year program. She worked at a reproductive health clinic providing abortion services, gynecology, pregnancy support and fertility counseling. She trained with Spinning Babies in optimal fetal positioning and body balancing techniques. She studied at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine and assisted the Clinical Herbalist Director at a free community health clinic. She is certified in Cranioscaral therapy from the Life Energy Institute. She offers full spectrum midwifery care for the reproductive and menopausal years. Her work is gender affirming, trauma informed and sex positive. She wildcrafts, grows and extracts the botanical medicines offered.

philosophy

Listening through my hands and heart shows me how to support the body's ability to heal itself. All people deserve access to individualized care, education and support. Everyone inherently knows how to intuitively listen to their own body. My goal is to offer support in collaboration so one can gain wisdom through self-empowerment. I am an excellent experienced clinician, utilizing medical intervention when necessary, while respecting pregnancy, birth and reproduction as a normal physiologic life event. I am inspired to support individuals recognize their power.
